Liberty HealthShare recently launched a new Dental Sharing Program called Liberty Dental, which is currently only one of two HealthShares that offer a dental sharing program. This is a true sharing program, differing from dental savings or discount programs. According to Liberty’s CEO, Dorsey Morrow, “Good dental health contributes to overall wellness and can help people avoid serious illness.”.
Although this new program is not offered as a standalone sharing program, it is an affordable add-on to any new or existing Liberty HealthShare medical membership. Liberty Dental allows members to see any licensed dentist of their choice and will share 100% of the eligible preventive dental care costs.
Pricing for Liberty Dental will depend on household size. Memberships start at $35 a month for an individual, $69 a month for couples, and $129 a month for families with up to 4 members. For families with additional members, each extra member adds $20.
Members will also have an Annual Unshared Amount (AUA) specifically for the Liberty Dental Sharing Program. The dental AUAs are $75 for single memberships, $150 for couples, and $200 for families.
Eligible dental costs will be shared with the community through the member’s online account, ShareBox. The maximum amount for sharing eligible dental expenses is $2,000 per member per year. Preventive services are eligible for sharing at 100% with two visits per member per year, and the dental AUA is waived. For basic or major services, the dental AUA applies, and the member will be responsible for 20–50% depending on the type of service provided.
